Sr. Grace Mathew SCJM Principal of Mercy School of Nursing

Nursing is a noble profession that helps people through their most difficult times. Nurses require the qualities of love, compassion, care, empathy, patience and knowledge. When a nurse uses his/her heart, head and hands, they touch the person as a whole or in a holistic manner, while she/he cares the client’s health restored and nurse becomes professionally competent and successful.

The Buddha said in one of his books that a person becomes sick or unsuccessful in life when he/she become friendship with these five things. 1. Sleep 2. Food 3. Enjoyment 4. Thoughtless mind and 5. Laziness.

As a Principal I would like to say to students that if you make friendship with sleep, you will never reach your goal or purpose be awake with your books not with mobile. If you make friendship with food and parties will make you sick fill your mind with good thoughts not your belly. Making friendship with enjoyment you forget the purpose of your life, you may struggle in your studies now and enjoy your profession later. If your mind is thoughtless one, no planning about your studies, future and how to go about you will not reach the purpose with which you have come. And you make friendship with laziness and not doing things what you are supposed to do today and postponing will never complete anything in your life if you keep away from these five friends  you may be a successful person in your carrier, profession and life. It is in your hand that you want to be a successful person or a looser.

The team of expertise teaching and non – teaching faculties together we form students and bring out their best in the academic as well as clinical.
